Ryan Randall, as a junior, has just started his time at the University of Florida, but already has his career goals mapped out. After receiving his degree in journalism, Randall hopes to turn his lifelong passion for sports into a career. He envisions himself starting out at a newspaper and then moving onto the big leagues, working for ESPN or Fox Sports.
Learning to become a journalist has not been easy for Randall. While covering community sports at Florida Today, a daily newspaper serving Brevard County, Randall discovered there is more to journalism than he previously thought. From double-checking sources to making sure names are correct, coming to terms with what a career in journalism takes has been his biggest challenge.
Randall loves the competition of sports, analyzing different strategies of teams and learning about the history of sports. His favorite teams include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, the Florida Gators and the Chicago Cubs.
