Charlotte Porter's gangster name is CPo.

She earned the name back in eighth grade, as far as she can remember, and it has stuck like steamed rice ever since. At least with her high school friends.

When she started college at the University of Florida, though, she reverted back to her old moniker–Charlotte. But whenever she goes back home to Satellite Beach, Fl, her friends know what's up.

They also know that just because she has a gangster name, it doesn't mean she's gangster.

"I've been told repeatedly by my friends that I'm too white to make gangster jokes," Porter said. "Even though I say, "Fo sho," and throw up my gang signs all the time, they go, "No, you're too pale and too white; you can't do that."

So where does a white, wanna-be gangster live in the 352?

The Ivy House on Southwest Eighth Avenue, of course. As described by Porter, the Ivy House "is a sorority style home for about 80 some odd girls on Sorority Row."

"So I get to hear all the girls happily screaming on bid day," she said.

It's not all cookies and cream at the Ivy, though. Sometimes heaven can look a lot like hell.

"The sink is clogged right there in the kitchen," Porter said. "We don't know who clogged it. Help... please."
