April Dudash is a University of Florida journalism senior from Tampa, Fla. She’s currently serving her second term as the president of the student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and prides herself on bringing the organization’s membership and programming to an all-time high. Her increased efforts have led to her chapter’s recognition as the National Campus Chapter of the Year.
When she’s not working with her fellow aspiring journalists, Dudash love to play and listen to music. She enjoys all kinds of different music and enjoys playing the violin and the piano. She is also the musical director for an upcoming television show that her student improv group Theater Strike Force is currently working on.
Dudash joined Theater Strike Force to gain more experience with public speaking and has developed a love for performing ever since. She was on the verge of sickness the first time she went to a Theater Strike Force class, but now improv is second nature for her. She likes being on stage and making the audience laugh.
She is currently undecided on which news medium to work in but has gained experience writing for The Independent Florida Alligator, freelancing for the North Florida Herald and is currently working part-time at the WCJB TV-20 news station.
“It doesn’t matter what medium as long as I’m still reporting,” she said.
